I’m going to address some comments and questions I’ve received about the con guide

If you have not yet seen the Supernatural Conventions for Dummies guide, you can find it here. If you have any more questions about anything not addressed here or in the guide, feel free to ask!

Things mentioned in the guide are not necessarily things we ourselves did. They may have been things we witnessed happening to other people. For example, the one about not bringing anything breakable to have autographed…I was standing in line as this girl was walking away with something ceramic she made herself that had already been signed by EVERYONE and she fucking dropped it. My heart shattered right along with it just seeing it happen. I wanted to cry for her. As a matter of fact, I think I did.

Gifts: Giving them candy during your autograph is fine, they love it. What I’m referring to when I say don’t bring them gifts is don’t present them with a gift during panel time. The panels are short enough and presenting a gift that only you care about takes up precious minutes and is inconsiderate to everyone else who paid good money to be there and hear responses to actual questions. Another note on panel questions, ask whatever you want, unless it’s something really fucking weird that will make them uncomfortable. But for FUCKS SAKE DON’T RAMBLE!! There was one guy there who seriously rambled on for like 5 min before he actually got around to asking his damn question, which took two seconds to ask. Every single person in that convention had a WTF are you talking about look on their face, including J2.

Dressing sexy: If you wanna dress sexy just for your own pleasure, by all means, go right ahead. BUT, If you are just dressing like a whore to try and impress the boys….yeah…no. Their wives are hot as fuck and I promise they won’t even look twice. We saw some women there who were entirely too old to be dressed as streetwalkers. Seriously, no one wants to see that much skin, young or old.

Misha Collins: Misha Collins is a special special person. Some celebrities have trouble saying no to requests even when it’s plainly obvious they’re uncomfortable and would rather not be doing whatever it is you asked them to do. Misha Collins is not one of them. He will tell you no in a heartbeat. Are you a guy with heterosexual man crush on him who wants a hug during panel time? NO. But ask him if you can poke him in the cheek during your photo op? SURE! Just ask him. Chances are he’ll say yes. But if you ask him to do something he has said no to over and over, his response isn’t gonna be pretty. Misha has said many times that doing the Cas voice hurts his throat. DO NOT ASK HIM TO DO THE CAS VOICE! And I promise you, as bad ass as you think you are, Misha Collins will be able to make you cry with no effort at all. You are no challenge to him.

Jared and Jensen: Jensen is really really shy. He may or may not make eye contact during your autographs. If you drew a pretty picture for him to sign and he doesn’t gush over how amazing it is, he’s not being rude, he’s just very withdrawn and not very outgoing. Don’t judge him harshly for this. Jared on the other hand is the most amazing outgoing person ever. He thoroughly enjoys every second spent with every fan.

PS: MATT COHEN IS THE GREATEST HUMAN BEING EVER TO BE BORN UPON THIS EARTH! BASK IN HIS GLORY.

This guide was a collaborative effort written by myself, Paula, Kathryn, Dedi and Tony. NashCon 2011 was the first time any of us had ever been to a con and we definitely learned some hard lessons there. This guide is a summary of those lessons. Points addressed in this guide were not necessarily things we did ourselves, they may be things we witnessed happen to other people.
